Effective date: 08/13/2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Grayden Outdoor LLC, doing business as Fish Hawk Electronics ("Fish Hawk," "we," "our," or "us"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use the TD Connect mobile application (the "App"). This policy applies only to the TD Connect mobile App. Use of the fishhawkelectronics.com website is governed by a separate website privacy policy.
1. Who We Are
The App is provided by Grayden Outdoor LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company.
- Business address: 7845 Brians Way, Brainerd, MN 56401, USA
- Contact for privacy matters: trevor@graydenoutdoor.com
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Email address. We use your email address to sign you in. The App uses passwordless authentication: we send a one-time verification code to your email each time you sign in. We do not store passwords.
- Name. Used in your in-app profile to personalize your experience.
- Notes you write. Any notes you attach to a dive or fishing record (for example, conditions, bait used, observations) are stored with that record.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically From the App
- Precise location. When you record a dive or fishing event, the App captures the GPS coordinates of that event so you can later view it on a map. Location is only collected at the moment a record is created or updated — the App does not track your location in the background. We use Apple Maps to convert coordinates into a human-readable place name (see Section 4).
- Account identifier. Each user account is assigned a unique identifier (UUID) by our backend. This identifier is used to associate your records with your account and to keep your data in sync across your devices.
- Diagnostic logs. The App stores diagnostic logs locally on your device to help with troubleshooting. These logs are not transmitted to us automatically. If you contact support, you may choose to share them with us.
- Crash reports. If the App crashes, a crash report is automatically sent to us through Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service. Crash reports contain technical information — device model, operating-system version, App version, and the state of the App at the moment of the crash — along with a random identifier generated by Crashlytics. We do not attach your name, email address, account identifier, or dive records to crash reports.
2.3 Information Collected From Your TD Connect Hardware Device
When you pair the App with a TD Connect hardware device over Bluetooth, the App reads dive and fishing data recorded by the device, including:
- Water temperature readings
- Depth readings
- Timestamps and device-assigned record indices
- The hardware device's MAC address (used to recognize your device)
- Battery and firmware status
This data is transmitted directly from the hardware to your phone over Bluetooth Low Energy. The hardware itself does not transmit data to Fish Hawk or to any third party.
2.4 What We Do Not Collect
Apart from the crash reporting described in Section 2.2, the App does not use third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics services, or cross-app tracking. We do not collect contacts, photos, microphone input, browsing history, health and fitness data, financial information, or marketing preferences through the App.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information described above to:
- Provide the App's core features (sign-in, recording dives, viewing history, mapping, syncing your data across devices)
- Communicate one-time sign-in codes
- Maintain the security and integrity of your account
- Respond to your support requests
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing communications, profiling, or sale to third parties.
4. How We Share Information
4.1 Service Providers
- Microsoft Azure (United States). Our backend services (account management, data sync, email delivery for sign-in codes) run on Microsoft Azure. Your account information and dive records are stored on Azure servers located in the United States.
- Apple Inc. When the App needs to display a place name for a location you've recorded, the GPS coordinates are sent to Apple's Maps API to retrieve a human-readable name. This call is made directly from the App on both iOS and Android. Apple's handling of this data is governed by Apple's privacy policies.
- Google LLC (United States). Crash reports are processed for us by Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service (see Section 2.2). On Android devices, maps in the App are displayed using Google Maps, and Google's handling of map data is governed by Google's privacy policy.
4.2 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Fish Hawk, our users, or others.
4.3 Business Transfers
If Fish Hawk is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you (for example, by email or in-app notice) before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4.4 No Sale of Personal Information
We do not sell your personal information.
5. Data Security
All data transmitted between the App and our backend uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage (iOS Keychain or Android EncryptedSharedPreferences). We use industry-standard security practices to protect data stored on our servers. No system is perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information and dive records for as long as your account is active. If you delete a record from within the App, it is marked as deleted and removed from our active systems within a reasonable period. If you delete your account (see Section 7), we delete your account information and associated records from our active systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. Crash reports are retained by our crash-reporting provider for 90 days.
7. Your Rights and Choices
7.1 Account Deletion
You can delete your account directly from within the App: open My Account → Delete Account. Account deletion removes your profile information and dive records from our active systems within 30 days. You may also request deletion by emailing trevor@graydenoutdoor.com.
7.2 Access, Correction, and Export
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request a copy of your information in a portable format
- Withdraw any consent you have previously given
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at trevor@graydenoutdoor.com.
7.3 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
7.4 Canadian Residents (PIPEDA)
If you are located in Canada, you have rights under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act. You may file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at 1-800-282-7100 if you believe your rights have been violated. Quebec residents may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Quebec at 1-888-528-7741.
7.5 European Economic Area & United Kingdom Residents (GDPR / UK GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, Grayden Outdoor LLC is the "controller" of your personal data, and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or its UK equivalent applies to our handling of it.
Legal bases. We process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): providing the App's core features — sign-in, storing your dive and fishing records, mapping, and syncing your data across your devices.
- Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): keeping your account secure, receiving crash reports so we can find and fix defects, and responding to your support requests.
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): access to your device's precise location and Bluetooth, which you grant through your device's operating-system permission prompts. You can withdraw these permissions at any time in your device settings; the related features will simply stop working.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): where we must retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.
Your rights. In addition to the rights described in Sections 7.1 and 7.2, you have the right to restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to receive the data you provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at trevor@graydenoutdoor.com; we will respond within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your country, or, if you are in the UK, with the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Where your data is stored. Our servers are located in the United States. When you use the App, your data is sent directly from your device to those servers, where it is protected as described in Section 5. Please be aware that the United States may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction.
No automated decision-making. We do not use your personal data for profiling or for any automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13, or under the higher minimum age (up to 16) that applies in some European countries. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child below the applicable age without verifiable parental consent, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at trevor@graydenoutdoor.com.
9. Bluetooth and Device Permissions
The App requests permission to use Bluetooth solely to communicate with TD Connect hardware devices. Bluetooth is not used for advertising, location estimation, or proximity tracking. The App requests location permission solely to tag your dive and fishing records with GPS coordinates — the App does not use location for tracking, profiling, or any background purpose.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the App or by email before the changes take effect. The "Effective date" at the top of this policy reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after a change indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
