Improved, but...
I have always removed the battery pack, as I was told by some Lake Ontario salmon dogs that it was necessary to conserve battery life. Of course, the flimsy wiring harness wasn’t up to that task. When I ordered a replacement, I was told by a representative, Trevor Sumption, that removal of the pack was in fact not necessary. I will experiment this year to find out for sure, but the new wiring harness did have a protective sheathing, and so the product is improved. My previous issue had more to do with soldering though. Replacement price, nonetheless, is reasonable, and turnaround time was quick.

One of the wires on the battery pack in my Fish Hawk came out. This was just what I needed, so I ordered two, so I'd have a spare.
