Battery pack
It works fine. Bought my X2 unit new for the beginning of our salmon season and by two months in the original battery pack was cracking and falling apart. Needed to buy a replacement and a spare because they are not very durable.

Probe replacement battery pack
I'm extremely careful with boating equipment and my Fish Hawk Probe is no exception. Every time I'm done with it I open the battery hatch cover to dry out the interior. I don't remove the battery pack each time, just open the cover and let it dry. My battery pack failed at the positive wire connection to the battery terminal. The wire just broke off rendering the battery pack inoperative. I think there should be a design change to this area of the battery pack to prevent the wires from separating here. Otherwise a quality product which performs well.

Fish Hawk has great products and in my experience fantastic customer service. The replacement battery pack was relatively inexpensive and simple to install. Keeps the probe in great working condition.
